The great thing about working in a school, is I get to play with all the materials in the store room! These fabrics were inspired by the work of the year 7 textiles student’s fabric fish! The idea is that you paint a design onto Lithograph paper (kind of like baking paper) with transfer inks and then you iron your design onto fabric. I think I need an ironing press if I’m going to take this fabric design printing seriously at all.. the little white circles the iron leaves is really tricky to work into every design! Anyhoo.. here are some designs I played with at work today.
