Wow! Google Art Project – Here you can explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces (not sure how you do that yet).
The amazing thing is you can zoom in on some amazing artworks at incredible levels! Look at the brush strokes on van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’!! Amazing! I’m one of those annoying people who stand up close in front of paintings at galleries looking at this kind of stuff!
You can also snoop around famous galleries and museums around the world, much like Google street view. Of course, it doesn’t top actually visiting in person – but what a great resource for art students and enthusiasts!!
